New on the block

Post  lourain on 16.02.11 7:40

Hi all, When I was given a HO for Christmas, I didn't expect to be so impressed. It's a great addition to a small kitchen with a small conventional oven (so no Xmas turkey this year!), and so far, the things I've tried out have been A1 successful. So I'm looking forward to experimenting more.

I am glad that you are enjoying your HO so much.
Good Luck with your new experiments. Perhaps, when you have time, you could share some of your successful recipes with us. Very Happy

Thanks for your replies. I'm doing lamb with oven roasted veggies (carrots, parsnips and potatoes) this w/e, for the second time. This time, I'll put the lamb on the low rack and the veggies underneath. Tossed in olive oil and herbs first, of course. Last time, they were absolutely delish, crunchily done and a little bit browned even though the meat and veg was all in the glass bowl together. The flavours were wonderful. Tomorrow I'm going to try a fish gratin: cod with tomatoes, leeks and a cheese and breadcrumb gratin topping.
Generally, I find cooking times shorter than in a conventional oven and in the various HO recipes I've found.
