How to fry food in the Halogen Oven

Post  Seán Gallagher on 04.02.11 7:43

I have just bought my first halogen oven and I read that it will be able to fry food. So, do I just pour a little olive oil into the bowl and chuck a sausage in and switch on? And what about a fried egg?

Hi Sean and welcome

welcome

Generally things don't cook well just placed in the bottom of the bowl - the hot air can't circulate.
Here is a link to an earlier reply. Use any baking tray if you didn't get one with your oven.

Thankyou June
I've only just worked out that the handle needs to be put in place for the thing to work. The light keeps coming on and then going off again,is this correct?

Yes Sean, it's Ok Very Happy

The light is the heat source and goes on and off like the thermometer on your heating or on your 'big' oven to maintain the temperature.
