dishes and foil in oven?
Hi all
Have just read the post re baking bread, and part of my question is answered i.e. one can use baking dishes in the H/Oven.
I was wondering if one can use things like casserole dishes or foil dishes.
When the opportunity arises, I double up on some recipes and put one in the freezer ( usually in foil containers), and obviously, I would normally put them in a conventional oven, but I plan to use the H\oven while we are camping.
Any input on this would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks in advance.
Regards Val

Re: dishes and foil in oven?
Hi Val,
You can use anything that would normally be used in a conventional oven as long as it says it's oven proof ie foil dishes, but don,t use microwave dishes as they are not suitable.

I even use my ordinary dining dishes in it and I only got one of them cracked in ten years! Anyway don't use dishes that you appreciate... Just a very important thing: your halogen oven is that, an oven, so the dish will be, like any tray, terribly hot when taken out...I must confess, it has happened to me...When I'm cooking just for myself, sometimes I cook the stuff directly in the dish, take it out with all precautions...but then, when starting to eat...I forget it's terribly hot and burn my hand!
