1 Problem with oven on 12/1/2011, 17:48

Lottie

Hello again everyone flowerz

Sorry I've not posted for ages, been very busy and I've been using my oven with some nice results! Very Happy

BUT!!!
I used it the other day to defrost some chicken, then added some other ingredients and put it onto cook for an hour. It wasn't enough and so I set the timer/temp for a bit longer. I wasn't really watching it as we were in and out the house but when I came back to it the food was cold.

The timer is working, and it's making the usual noise (the fan I suppose) but the light isn't coming on and it's not heating up. I know I have put the handle down properly and pressed the little button on the handle.

I've only had it since October Sad
I bought it off ebay and so far the seller hasn't responded to me and so I thought I'd come here to the experts for advice coucoufleurbleue
Should I just contact JML direct?

Hi Lottie,

I know exactly what you are describing.
The heating element is gone

Did you received your 1 yr warranty document from the Ebay seller ?

If you have it then contact JML Direct. They will ask you for the details of this purchase, reference number etc

You will get a replacement provided you have your warranty document

Good luck Lottie

Best wishes from Reeta

Thank you for the quick response Reeta cool

Unfortunately you've confirmed my fears Sad

I think I slung the box in my shed - I usually keep boxes so I will have to have a delve.

Oh no...
Mine's not a JML, it just looks like one.
It's been branded by the seller on ebay that I purchased from by the looks of things.

There's a phone number on his auctions so I guess I'll have to put my *polite but not going to be walked over* hat on tomorrow and call them if I don't get a response to the emails I've sent.

Good Luck Lottie

Fingers crossed for a good result. Hope you'll be HO cooking again very soon.

Thanks June flowerz

I hope so too - I did a joint of beef in it and it was sooooo succulent!

I'm debating with myself whether to try and go for a refund and then start again perhaps with the JML one as their customer service seems good (and you can get the insurance thing for repairs).

Can't believe I didn't check the model...the ebay seller was rather crafty with his photos, it looked exactly like a JML one and also his ID was similar. I\'m stupid

Hi Lottie

It's always easy to be wise after the event. Most of the HO's look pretty much the same so, no, you're not stupid.

My beef has never tasted so good as when cooked in the HO agree
