Cake recipes please

Post  sallyann on 10.01.11 5:58

Hi, I'm another relatively new user. I've done a couple of fantastic roast dinners but would like to try a simple cake. Where can I find some recipes?

Hello and Welcome to the forum Sallyann, there are a few recipes here or you could use old favorites the thing with cakes is all ovens are slightly different so may cook cake faster/slower than recipe best tip is to have tin foil at the ready to protect the top of the cake if top cooks to fast and the middle doesn't. It is a case of try it and see what works best for your oven. Good Luck

haven't done the drizzle cake yet but made yorkshire puddings for lunch. Used the extender ring & they were perfect in about 12 minutes. Haven't been successful with yorkshire puddings in a regular oven so this was wonderful.

I have recently tried this simple white cake recipe. This came out perfectly, its very delicious!

Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk

Method:
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch pan or line a muffin pan with paper liners.
2.In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Finally stir in the milk until batter is smooth. Pour or spoon batter into the prepared pan.
3.Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven. For cupcakes, bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch.

I hope you like this cupcakes. Thanks.

Hi Freebestrecipes,
Thank you for this recipe.

Is it for Halogen Oven ?

9x9 inch pan (tin) doesn't fit in my halogen oven. I have the big HO

I know there is a new design of halogen oven for sale which has a rectangular shape. Is that what you have?
