Hello from Beijing
I've been living in China for 8 months now, and few, if any, apartments come with an oven...just hobs and microwave/rice steamer. Seems that most Chinese don't roast or bake.
Feeling desparate for some 'home' foods such as scones I did some on-line research and discovered the Halogen Oven - the answer to all my prayers! But could I buy one in China? I could not. I searched high and low, not an HO to be seen, no-one had even heard of them. Went back to the UK for Xmas and bought myself one in Costco (it's a Team International Visicook) which I have brought back out with me - irony is that it is - of course - Made in China!!!
Now I'm embarking on the big learning curve - thank heavens I've discovered this forum - you are wonderful, so much advice. I'll have questions I'm sure.

Hi Herschelian and welcome
I would not have believed that you couldn't get a HO in China
I'm glad you have managed to purchase one and have joined the forum. There is a lot of advice from members already here, as you say. If you can't find what you need, then please do ask, someone will try to help you.

Re: Hello from Beijing
At least you've got one now
to the forum Herschelian
You know where we are if you need help.
May be you could open a small online shop selling Halogen Ovens in China. They are very cheap to buy in bulk.
