Hi Everyone form a New Member

Post  Richard C on 31.12.10 15:34

Hi,
I'm logged as Richard C and have posted my first recipe for Liver, Bacon and Onions, try it. My wife bought me a Halogen Oven a couple of weeks ago from Makro and it's marvellous. It makes cooking for one so easy and energy saving. The only drawback I find, and may be my technique is that I have to watch that food doesn't burn or cook just on top without turning. If I'm doing something wrong please tell me.

Hi Richard

it does take a bit of practice and experimenting to get things right when cooking in the Halogen Oven.

If food is turning brown too quick on the top, use the extender ring to move the heat higher up or cover the food with foil

For certain food you do need to turn it over at least once.

Cooking the food at a lower temperature (lower than what the cookbooks say) also helps. It will just have to be cooked a little bit longer.

welcome

Thanks Reeta. I'll persevere and I'm sure that I will get it right eventually. Just done the bacon for breakfast in it.

Thank you Hummingbird. I'l try your suggestions. I don't have an extension ring yet but they seem to be useful so it's getting one next time I'm out shopping, that is if I can find a shop that sells them.
