Hi - I am about to cook the first thing in my new halogen oven - a beef joint, about 1 1/2 kg, how do I do it, I had no recipe book with my oven - help !!!

Hi Maureen I find it best to work on the timing of 20mins a pound plus 20 @ 180 - 200c cover beef joint with tin foil on low rack on shallow tin ready for roast potatoes which take 1hr uncover joint for last 20 mins rest meat for 20 mins or whilst you finish the potatoes off... Good Luck

beef joint

i cooked mine yesterday first thing i have cooked i did cover it in tin foil it was 2kg so i put it in for 2hrs uncovered for last half hr and added roast potatoes it was lovely i know this seems a long time but my family fussy will only eat meat well done Very Happy

Hi i am about to cook my first beef joint in the halogen oven i think i have to wrap the beef in foil and put it on the low rack but i dont know if i have to put a litle water in the glass bowl when my joint is in can anyone help me on this please.

Hi Tracy,

please check out the beef recipes for more advice.

No water - you add water for steaming food not for roasting.
