HI I'm Carol

Post  chickenherder on 13.12.10 21:34

HI I'm Carol, just got my oven, so only tried a few things so far, but did see on one of the shopping channels, (ideal world) about a Gugelhopf cake mould, it has a lid, where can I get one? and is it something I will need to make a cake?
Seen lots of moulds, but can't find one with a lid, again, is a lid essential?
Carol.

Hi Carol,
welcome to the forum.
You can buy a Gugelhopf cake mould in Amazon but without the lid. Only Ideal world sell the one with a lid but it comes with the Halogen Oven and other accessories, the complete package.

So many people have been disappointed with baking cakes in the HO - the centre still raw/uncooked but the top too brown. Last year one of our members discovered that if you use a Cake Ring Mould you actually get a good result with cakes.

You can still use the one without the lid and just cover the top with a piece of foil.

Hope this helps

welcome
