Steak & Kidney Pudding

Has anyone done a steak & kidney pudding in their oven?

I've made one as if I was getting it ready to put in my pressure cooker but was just wondereing if I could do this in my oven??

Would appreciate any help.

Hi Anita I haven't actually done a steamed pud in the oven but a book i've got gives a recipe for syrup sponge steamed in the oven it should there fore in theory be able to do a meat pud.
The temperture for the pudding is 250c for about 1.30 to 1.45mins with enough water to come up third of the way up a 1 litre bowl, hope this helps good luck Good Luck

Sorry for the late reply but my steak & kidney pud did not go well, the top cooked but the bottome half didn't, not sure what went wrong but think the water around the pudding didn't get hot enough, will try again soon, with my new idea of using boiling water. :S

Hi Anita Sorry your Steak & kidney didn't go well Think if you try it as you said with boiling water before you start it may work better

Wink Hi, milgag here.I think you must place the steaming bowl on the low rack and use a metal cover for the lid (not glass)
