Poached eggs

Post  toots on 08.12.10 12:00

Hi have been Experimenting today,

And have managed to poach an egg in my halogen to go on my toast for lunch.

This is how I did it

I put boiling water into a casserole lid & placed it on the low rack set the temp to 200 when temp was reach I put in high rack I added the egg to my metal poacher and 4 mins later it was done, I kept my beady eye on the whole process expecting to have to eat a hard egg but was really pleased with the outcome

Well done Toots, thanks for sharing this with us.

Can you just clarify for me - did you move the casserole lid up onto the high rack when the temperature was reached, then place the metal poacher in the water ??
thank you

Poached egg clarifying

Post  toots on 08.12.10 23:50

Hi junie,

No the casserole lid I left on bottom rack and I put metal poacher on top rack sorry I did not clarify it too well. Was being cautious of water hitting fan like you advised .

Toots. Very Happy
