Won't turn on?

Post  elinacai on Sat 21 Nov - 0:55

Hi

I've only just got my halogen oven and have found that when the timer dings and it turns itself off, if I take the lid off to take food out, it won't start again when I put the lid back on. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, turning the timer and temperature to 0 and back up again, and I'm pushing the handle down. The only thing that has worked has been taking out the black cable that goes into the lid and then sticking it back in. Then it turns back on ok. Is this normal or should I take it back???

Thank you

It sounds like something is loose somewhere - a loose connection

Best thing to go is to return it and get another one.

Good luck

Have you sorted out not turning on?

Post  wimplebum on Tue 1 Dec - 8:10

Hi, have you managed to sort out the problem of not turning on? I know on my oven theres a little lever you have to pull forward and push it down to get the handle to go down and it turns on then - bit like a safety device and very useful.

Would love to hear how you got on

It works now, I think it may have just been teething problems - I've found I really have to push the handle down hard and then it does come on. Really enjoying using it, baking lots of cakes and bread.

It's a Prolectrix InfraChef. Had to go and look at it because I couldn't remember!
