hello Everyone

Post  Lottie on 08.10.10 12:45

Hi I\'m new here

My friend sent me a link to this forum as I've just bought an oven and he's going to see how well I get on with it before he dips his toes in the water Very Happy

Mine's so new it's still in the box Shocked

I'm determined to get it out tomorrow and try and do something with it though. sunny

I'm a single mum with one son from middle England. I'm hoping I can do a nice roast dinner in there as my cooker is useless and takes forever!

I'm usually rushing from one place to another after work with child-related activities, so I'm also hoping this will mean we eat more healthily too instead of dropping in the chippy on the way home lol!

Hello Lottie and everyone else. I just registered for the forum and am anxious to meet you all.

I live in California (Colfax) and am a mother of two grown children and grandmother to three growing boys (9, 7 and 6). I just ordered a Halogen oven and am waiting for it to be delivered. My twin sister also ordered an oven and we hope to learn as much as possible about our new ovens and how to cook delicious and healthy meals! I\'m new here

oh Lottie get it out of the box and find a place for it in your kitchen.
Try something simple like cheese on toast - I bet you won't regret it. Smile

I am all for healthy eating, well done for taking the first step.

You know where we are if you need any help Lottie

welcome

Thank you for the welcome everyone!!

Junie, the forum looks fab and I must wade through it! Wink
I know there's going to be lots of inspiration.

Reeta, I haven't decided quite where it's going in my kitchen, but I want to give the whole thing a damn good clean and rearrange tomorrow (it looks like a chinese laundry right now) and then my new HO will have pride of place

Janstwin - have you got some good halloween and thanksgiving recipes?
It's almost that time again and Halloween over here gets more Americanised each year

Lottie - Sounds like your HO is new also. I'm still waiting for mine and can hardly wait until I receive it (probably next week). Please keep me updated on your progress getting to know your new oven!

It is almost Halloween once again. If I find a recipe for the HO that would be good for Halloween or Thanksgiving, I will let you know! In the meantime, good luck with the placement of your oven; I will have the same task very soon!

Hi Jan and everyone

Well I've christened it!
I did some baked potatoes (thought I'd break myself in gently). I followed what was said on here really - coated them in some oil and salt after pricking them and then cooked 4 for about an hour.

They were lovely and fluffy and not at all dry.
I steamed some cabbage and leek in the microwave and added cheese for a scrummy topping Very Happy

Hi, Lottie

You've done it! Good job, Lottie! The potatoes sound delicious. I haven't had breakfast yet; if I had my HO, I would try to prepare something yummy, but guess it's just cereal again this morning! Have a great day.
