Hi There, I'm very new to this forum and my halogen oven...I would like to cook a large chicken and was told that I could put it in my oven frozen? You said you did a roast chicken and it turned out great....should I defrost first? Also I think my chicken is about 7 lbs? Does this change the length of cooking time...HELP!!!! afraid

Hi Victoria

You will need to defrost the chicken thoroughly before cooking - make sure there are no ice crystals inside the body.
Here is a link to the way I cook my chicken (this is for a 1.5kg - approx 3lb bird). I would add about 15 minutes for each additional lb your bird weighs - do check the weight to make sure.

Hello everyone ! Just found this site, it's brilliant ! We have had our oven a couple of years now, and our first meal was a whole chicken, it was wonderful ! We have hardly used it since, but, we going to try again today, cooking a chicken with roast potatoes added, do we put the spuds in at the same time as the chicken? Many thanks Laughing

Hi Martin

Sorry but we're only here when time allows so my answer will be too late for you. If you check out the recipe for Perfect Roast Potatoes and time them around your chicken, I don't think you'd be disappointed.

I hope your chicken was good.
