Halogen Oven Reliability

Post  oakwoodbank on 02.09.10 16:21

I have used both JML and Coopers ovens and the latter have lasted longest.
However, I do not find that any of them last much beyond the guarantee period. Has anyone else found similar?

One of the early problems that I identified was not to follow the instructions for cleaning (i.e. using water and detergent and switching on the oven to 'wash'). The water level suggested is far too high and allows the element to fail or deteriorate.

The bowl cleans easily with oven cleaner and of course this also cleans the glass section of the lid but if any of the foam gets on the element it will fail quite quickly.

The other problem that I have had is that the oven eventually starts to trip my switchboard and when that happens it is useless.
