introducing myself

Post  Netta on 04.08.10 17:03

Hi there,
My name is Netta, I am now retired but have had a very varied working life. I have been a sports commentator on horse and dog racing for Reuter, a nannie, a secretary, and more (I don't want to bore you with a list).
I have had a motorcycle licence for 31 years and car licence for 28.
I love to cook, read, spin and make bobbin lace and have various characters that I act as part of a re-enactment society of the English Civil War, along with my husband of 41 years. I have been a pagan for 35 years and am 61 years old. I have two sons and four grandchildren.
I have just bought my Halogen Oven from a company ad. that I saw in a magazine. It was £29 plus £5 postage. I got a very friendly recipe book but no actual instructions about the oven. The book gives recipes for smaller cuts of meat and chicken joints but nothing larger like a joint or whole chicken. There is one recipe for 'cookies' and beyond that no recipes for anything sweet.
I feel frustrated at these recipes and as I love reading recipe books but have over 500 (with some folks its drinking, drugs or smokes, I do none of those)I do however love to try new recipes but have promised my husband that I'll buy no more (for now!) as we are moving to a smaller house (if someone will buy ours)& don't know where we are going to put my books.
I hope to find good recipes from this forum
I live in Sheffield, South Yorkshire but plan to hop over the boarder to a new house in Derbyshire. Laughing

Hi Netta and welcome to the forum

You have such a full life, I'm surprised you have time for anything new. Very Happy

I love recipe books too. Reeta started this forum because the manufacturers of HOs don't provide anything much worthwhile. I'm sure you will find some helpful advice.

Try the search function for help on specific topics and if you can't find what you need, please ask in the Q&A section and someone will try to assist.

Good luck with the house move. Good Luck
