How to change the Element.

Post  Viscount on 22.07.10 0:57

Ok. so it blew.....new element £9.99 plus £3 postage.

here we go......
remove bottom plate three screws (philips)
remove fan......5/16ths socket REVERSE THREAD!
three more screws remove base plate.
it then all comes apart, element held in with three clips
replace, try and keep fingers off the element.
make the replacement connections
reassemble reverse of wot u did.
make sure the thermostat contacts are on and the temperature probe in contact with thermostat.
Simple innit????

Bugger that....I would rather pay £19.99 for a new top!!!

Did it once for the fun of it!

Hi Viscount

You haven't had a lot of luck with your oven, have you?

Now that everything is replaced, I wish you and your oven a long and trouble-free partnership.
Good Luck

Hi Viscount,

This should still be covered with your 1 year warranty.

Why are you paying for replacement parts?

I've never tried it but I think that's exactly what Viscount is describing above - some models may be different.

Hi Gizmo,

Viscount hasn't visited the forum for ages.

It was a "Bosun 12L" halogen oven. I got this info from his old post.
