Saying Hi...and dont try this at home!!!

Post  Viscount on 27.06.10 23:20

After you have cooked your dish.....it is time to clean the cooker.....yeah sure!!!

Follow the instructions that one can barely read....then pour cold water with some soap into the glass bowl!
Yup, you guessed it.....you are rewarded with a resounding "CRACK" and your kitchen fills with bits of glass.

Yup, I was that stoopid!

So, I introduce myself as the first dumdum on this forum. Shocked Shocked Shocked

You were just following the instruction so I don't think you should change your middle name to stupid or Dumdum Laughing

When I bought my HO I knew it had to be warm / hot water only because I saw the girl in the TV ad usng water from a kettle.

The glass bowl must have being very hot when you pour the cold water in, hence the "cracking and shattering"

Are you able to get a free replacement ?

Thank you for taking the time to share this useful info with us Viscount.

welcome to the forum

Hello and welcome

Welcome

You won't be the only person who has done this. I hope you can get a replacement as you were only following poor instructions. Hindsite is a great thing!!!

Thanks for sharing this - it may stop someone else doing the same thing.

(My instructions tell me to let the oven cool completely then add lukewarm water - the water warms up on my defrost/wash setting - this cleans the oven effectively.)

Yes, I contacted the Ebay seller who dipatched a new one for £9.99....it arrived next day smashed to pieces. He then dispatched another arriving next day in one piece.....that was this morning.
Now, I'm cooking again. Laughing

I was very impressed with the ebay seller's aftersales service. The oven is a Bosun 12L ....and I permitted to post this guy's information on this forum?

I am sure some of you might find his spares service useful.....but wouldnt want to break any rules.

Hi Viscount,
I have been contacted by so many Halogen Oven online shops / sellers about free advertising in this forum.
Even one online casino was offering good money to place their ads here.

If I allow this soon our forum will become more like a free advertising site No
