Height Extender Ring

Post  Gordsake on 24.04.10 15:39

Hi

I haven't actually used my oven yet, it is an Andrew James 12L model & it came with a height extender ring. The manual doesn't even mention it so I was hoping someone could give me some guidance on when I should use it. Is there a minimum or maximum clearance the lid should be from the top of the food you are cooking? Any help would be most appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Gordon

Hi Gordon

Like most things with these ovens it's a bit of trial and error. With my 7 litre model I find that I need the ring with any large roast on the bottom rack or for thicker foods on the top rack.

I believe you have more space under the heat source on the larger models - perhaps some of our active members would advise on when they use the ring. Question

If, like me, you don't have a lid stand, the ring makes an ideal stand (when not otherwise in use).
