Chickens in bags

Post  MaggieDB on 30.05.15 11:58

Hi I'm a fairly new Halogen user so still getting used to it. I have cooked a chicken in it which was lovely. You can now buy chickens in bags that can go in the oven, can these be cooked in the Halogen?

Hello Maggie,
if it can be cooked in the 'big oven' then it can also be cooked in the halogen oven. Make sure the bag does not touch the top (the metal case where the heat is coming from). Leave a space between them.

Hi cooked the chicken in a bag, I put it on the low rack and used the extender. Lowered the temperature a bit from the package. I also put some par boiled potatoes around the bird with 40 minutes to go. When the chicken was cooked left the potatoes in to finish cooking, should have turned the temperature up as though the potatoes were very nice they weren't as crispy as I would have liked.
Will cook it this way again

Thank you for sharing you cooking experience Maggie.

With a little bit of trial and error you will find the right way to cook your favourite meals in your halogen oven.
