Hi - I'm a new member and very happy to find you!

Help please....when I buy a packaged meal such as southern fried chicken, should I use the fan oven temperature or the normal oven one? Guess this applies to other conventional oven recipes as well?

Thank you - so nice to knw who to ask these things.

Hi Valsie and welcome

welcome

It's a little bit of trial and error on temperature and times for most of us. On conventional oven recipes I would start at about 20C less than the stated temperature. On the whole I would use fan oven temperature and keep an eye on the food. Ovens will vary and your food may cook a bit quicker than you think.

Others have recommended that you keep a diary to remind you of what works for you which is good advice especially till you get a feel for how your oven performs.

We all joined this forum because of the lack of info provided by manufacturers and I'm sure you will be cooking with confidence in no time at all.
