Hi everyone. I have recently bought 2 halogen ovens, a Crofton with stirring paddle from Aldi and a Cookshop one from Ideal World. I love them and haven't used my normal cooker since the beginning of July. I now use a combination of the halogens, microwave, slow cooker and my soup maker. My Fave books are Halogen Cooking Made Simple and Halogen Cooking Made Easy by Paul Brodel. Other books seem to require that you do lots of preparation like cooking pasta on a normal cooker before finishing off in the halogen, but with Paul's book I was thrilled to find I could make macaroni cheese completely in one dish in a halogen, although I changed the recipe and use creme fraiche as a sauce. I'm really pleased to find this site and to be able to exchange recipes and tips with others.
