I'm new but cooking.

Post  Silvernewgirl on 21.12.14 15:57

Hi Everyone, I'm silvernewgirl. I just got my oven today. Laughing I've cooked a slice of toast and given a cake some extra cooking that wasn;t done enough in my regular and hated oven. I've put a chicken in now but I'm doing roast potatoes in the hated oven, a because I need quite a lot and b because I think it best just to be able to concentrate on the chicken for now. I'm using an oven bag as I don't fancy splattering the inside.

Thanks for your welcome. My chicken turned out really well so I'm pleased. I thought it would take a while to cook things properly. I'm eager to try more now.

I had an interesting lesson today back when I got my HO about the 3rd thing I cooked was some beef grillsteaks (I just wanted something quick) and they were horrible. Today as our freezer is pretty empty I dragged out the rest of that packet of grillsteaks just for something for Dave's breakfast with some oven chips. I didn't tell him they were the ones that I'd descrived as "cardboard" and they came out lovely! Then againI worked our the timings better since the first time I tried them
