Hi I've got a new oven

Post  craftprincess on 15.06.14 13:02

Hi I've recently purchased the dugout all halogen oven/air fryer from ideal world. It doesn't have an extender ring and I'm having a few burning issues. Has anyone else got this oven and any tips to help

Hi Julia
I don’t have this one but my advice would be to lower the temp.
If it is possible to use foil in the air fryer, then cover the food with foil.

Get an extender ring- I use mine on top of the air fryer ring  and pretty much use it for everything  and nothing burns unless you set the timer for too long- it really suits me as I work and have a disabled partner who likes something for breakfast even if it's not "breakfast" stuff yesterday I did him fish and chips (I can go to work in the knowledge he's had a decent meal cos by the time I get home it's late) shoved everything in the air wave for 25 minutes and left it to cook while I had a shower and got ready for work. By the time I'd got ready for work it was just a matter of emptying the halo and serving him

The visicook aairchef has a hinged lid and no way to add an extender ring. Am constantly using trial and error and lowering temp. Cooking ATM is so hit and miss

I avoided the hinged lid unintentionally but glad I did. When you first start all it's all a bit hit and miss- I made some fairly spectacular mistakes and occasionally after 6 months still do!
