Rice cooker/cake tin

Post  LesleyM on 17.02.14 21:24

Well while I was ordering the breakfast rack because of the way Amazon now don't do Super Saver for orders under a certain amount I added this to the order. As usual it comes with no instructions whatsoever but appears to be a tin with a lid on it and a hole in the middle. Now whilst I will never make the Great British Bake Off etc I'm considering perhaps using a cake mix to bake something but I don't have the faintest idea how to use it. And how would I do rice in it?

Hi,
I bought th Andrew James halogen and it came with the dish you mention ,it is used for cakes and rice
1 cup of rice I would soak rice in water for 20 mins then rinse well,
Place in dish with 2 1/2 cups of water ,my oven has s rice option so I use that . I didn't soak I the rice last time and it took longer to cook.
Good luck

Hi I have the cake baker/rice cooker, I do all my cakes in and have never had a burnt cake or failure, even with cakes that take a long time. I baked a Xmas cake for 4 hours no problem.

I always bake cake in the tin with the lid on, it has no trouble browning, but if you thought it was going to be to pale for you, you could remove it for the last 10 mins.
