Will this work???

Post  yorkielass on 08.02.14 14:19

Hi all

Tonight I am making us steak, onion rings and chips after trying things earlier I am intending on onion rings on the low rack with steak on the baking tray on the high rack followed by the chips on my air fryer at the top.  Silly question perhaps but will the onion rings brown given that the tray will be above it and so not seen by the element if this makes sense?  Chef

food on the bottom rack do not cook well if you have a tray on top of it.

If you have space in the air fryer tray may be you can cook them with the chips

Yes I probably do- the air fryer attachment- cost an extra £20 and in less than 2 weeks has paid for itself like this morning when I threw a battered cod steak and some chips from the freezer on it for Dave then I came in threw some potato wedges and fish fingers in...BHO (Before Halogen Oven) we'd have got a takeaway

Thanks for the warning on the steak as that's one thing I'm looking ay

My air fryer was only £9.99 so a bargain lol. Maybe the steak did that due to the air fryer being above it I don't know ?? There was a lot of liquid, not fat, that they ended up sat in and my husband said the same that it was tasty etc but was as if I had boiled it. Do you open or close the vent holes?
