fresh picnic ham

Post  curlly62 on 26.02.13 15:15

I have a 4 lb. fresh picnic ham that I would love to cook in my Halogen oven. Has anyone cooked anything like this?

There is one recipe for ham here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Don't know if that is useful to you.

Picnic ham

I've just cooked a 2.5lb gammon joint in my halogen oven, I spiked it top and bottom with a fork, then rubbed it all over with brown sugar and wrapped it in foil and cooked it at 200 degrees for 20 minutes per lb plus 20 mins.......I cooked it on the high shelf with the extender ring.......it was as good as when I cooked it in my fan oven....if not slightly more tender. I have a 12 litre HO if that helps.....it tastes gorgeous
