A new halogen oven owner

Post  barbieg on 16.02.13 22:12

Hi, I have just found this forum tonight and really pleased because I am sure I will be needing help at some point, having just bought a halogen oven. It arrived today, and I did manage to cook oven chips and pork and apple burgers tonight successfully. I\'m new here

Welcome from me also. Had mine a week and have made soft boiled eggs, scones, biscuits and cooked a beef joint today. Brilliant so don't be put off if things do not quite go right. This forum usually has many of the answers or simply ask. A good cookery book is essential to progress further.

Thank you for the welcome, and for the reply about other racks. I bought the Andrew James ones from eBay and they fit in my cook works HO well, so thank you. Had a disaster yesterday with toad in the hole. Just did not work at all. Sausages were okay though so at least didn't starve.barbieg

Welcome Hallo Barbie,
I bought the Andrew James 11L Oven too and like yourself am busy experimenting. So far: -
Lemon Drizzle Cake (small, loaf shaped but yummy)
Date Loaf (1lb loaf tin, tinfoil on bottom, top rack and extender)10/10!
Sausages - nicely browned in HO prior to making Sausage Casserole. Saved on washing up.....
Cheese Toastie - disaster, cheese dried out and bread not browned. White bread instead of brown next time....
Rashers of Bacon - turn out well consistently.

Happy cooking.
