Pizza and chips help

Post  Nelliebarr on 27.01.13 12:57

Hi, another newbie, I've read a lot of posts about cooking pizza (going to invest in a pizza mesh)........but how would you go about cooking pizza and chips ? My recent foray was a bit of a disaster......chips lovely, but pizza (had it on the lower rack) was soggy. I realise the mesh might help, but would appreciate advice on double layer cooking please. I\'m stupid

Hello and Welcome

Have you tried placing a piece of tinfoil (shiny side up) on the bottom of the oven?

Is there a Poundland near you? There are some mesh trays (plus other items) available which can be used in the HO.

Regarding the chips are these frozen chips or homemade?

Pizza & Chips

Post  Nelliebarr on 28.01.13 10:20

The chips were frozen and lovely, it was just the pizza - reading a few other unrelated posts, looks like (once I get the mesh) I need to keep moving the shelves around regularly !

I have found that the foil in the bottom of the halogen oven works a treat and have had some good results cooking pizza. I must admit that I have cooked them on the higher rack though. Laughing
