My new toy has arrived, what now?

Post  nanny chicken on 01.12.12 19:56

My hubby has been going on about these ovens for while now. He works on a leisure park with lots of caravans and everyone has them and swears by them. He's finally persuaded me to get one so here goes, wish me luck!
I'm used to cooking for loads of people but now there are just the 2 f us most of the time I'm looking for easy and time saving meals as i don't really like cooking I prefer to do my hobby f glass painting but who knows i might be converted. Anyway, I'm so glad i've found this forum I think it's going to be very helpful.

Hi Nanny Chicken,

if you are cooking for two, the Halogen oven is perfect for that. Please read the posts when you have the time. You will get lots of tips and advice from other members.

Glass painting is a wonderful hobby. Myself I am into card making, the spellbinders style and also stamping/colouring.

Advice: do not paint / decorate your halogen oven glass bowl lol!

Mmm how did you know I'd been eyeing up the glass bowl? lol. We keep chickens so I was interested in the posts about boiled eggs. I did 2 hard boiled ones this morning and it did them fine but they take longer at 10 mins than they do on the gas hob so I don;t think I will do them again. This evening I'm attempting roast turkey roll, roast potatoes and roast parsnips. I think I will continue to do my boiled veg on the hob.
