pumpkin pie
Hi I am able to get tinned pumpkin and usually make a simple pie filling adding 2 eggs milk sugar & cinnamon to a pie case. This would be cooked in conventional oven gas mk 6/250 c for 45 mins. How can I adapt this for a HO. Thanks

Re: pumpkin pie
Follow your usual recipe
Reduce temp - cook at 200 c
Cooking time: until cooked
ADVICE:
Place an empty metal tray or line the bottom of the halogen oven glass bowl with foil. This will reflect the heat back up – beneath the pie.
Preheat the halogen oven.
Bake on high rack with extender ring on top. Hot air must be able to circulate all around the pie.
If the top is getting brown too soon, cover it with foil. Scrunch the edges of the foil to secure it and stop it flapping.
Reduce the temperature and cook for longer if you have to.
When cooking pies/pastries/cakes in the HO for the first time, it is usually "the experiment stage" Best to keep notes of everything you've done as this will help you the next time you cook the same thing.
Good luck! Please let us know how you get on

Hi Reeta
Thanks for your advice. I did everything you suggested and reduced temperature to 150c and it cooked in less than 30 mins.
