Just experimented with this for a snack lunch. I had some cooked ham so I got two slices white bread (no butter, I am on a diet!)put the sliced ham and cheese inbetween and put flat on the higher trivet and cooked on 240 for ten minutes.
Excellent, bread was dry crunchy toast inside hot with melted cheese and ham, only drawback was bottom didn't brown but who cares. I think next time I will try it with a raw egg on top, should be interesting.
I know I could have turned the toastie but when the top had browned and further cooking would have ended up like melba toast----now there's another experiment for me.
