Just got my new halogen oven today - Newbie
Hi Everyone
Got my new halogen oven today and not sure what to do with it. Any ideas would be greatful, please. I am a very busy working mum with two young children so I brought it to hopefully cook heathly meals fast. I also do slimming world and up to now I have lost 3 and a half stone so hoping this will help me stay in shape.

How wonderful to have lost all that weight, keep up the good work.
Do not have slimming world here, do they have special recipes that you can learn to cook in the halogen oven.
We are here to try and help each other.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. Slimming world is basically going back to basics. Preparing everything from scratch like people used to before fast food and ready meals, and cooking healthy not using fats, spreads and oils. Thats why I brought my halogen oven hoping that I can cook things like meat joints, homemade burgers and casseroles/stews, curries and chilli in it.

Hi Joemac,
Sheperds pie is good finished off in the halogen, the potato comes out really crisp on top. I usually make it a head of time and reheat it in the halogen.
For casseroles etc I use my slow cooker, I make them the day before, then put the inside bowl in the fridge and then reheat the next night. Sometimes I put them in a casserole dish and reheat in the halogen.

There's a lot you can do with this small oven. Check out the recipe section for some inspiration.
I am very happy to see you on board Joemac.
