Brisket without frills

Post  slinger1937 on 30.06.12 19:17

Hello,
I want to surprise my wife (that will be a first!).
I want to roast a 1kg piece of Brisket with roast potatoes in the Halogen cooker that I insisted we try (like a fool).
I haven't a clue where to start and am trying to avoid the "I told you so! bit"

Can anyone advice me please: Halogene Cooker with extention ring, no thermometor, 1kg Brisket, Roast pots. no garlic or other stuff, just the meat.
What temp. how long etc.

Thank you.

Thank you for the suggestion, I did look at this section but I could not find what I needed at this time.
The recipes are fine but being unused to being in the kitchen (except to eat) I'd love an idiots guide, you know? "how to make a cup of tea" first, take the kettle to the tap and fill with water etc.etc

I may sound a little slow, but I can assure you that .....I am!.

I do intend to buy a meat thermometer this week (when my wife gives me my allowance!).
