Soup in the halogen Oven

Post  joyciemo on 04.06.12 13:04

Hi I have this halogen oven which I bought second hand I think it must be an older model as it has no markings at the temperature knob or the timer so I will have to guess.
Is it OK to make soup in the oven? I have no instructions. I have put in the chicken carcass and a few vegetables to make the stock. Is this OK? would be glad of some suggestions.

Hi Joyciemo,

even the oldest halogen ovens have temp and timer markings on them. You bought yours second hand , so may be they came off when scrubbing/cleaning with some harsh chemical by the previous owner.

Frankly I don't know how you will be able to use this oven.

I am sorry that I am not able to help you.

Soup in the halogen

Post  joyciemo on 04.06.12 15:53

Thanks Reeta, I thought that might have happned. Anyway the soup is cooking away merrily though I am not sure how fast it should cook. It seems to be just simmering at the hottest temp. Tastes ok so far. I did not pay a lot for it so if it is appealing to me I may buy a new one. I will try one or two recipes first. Cheers Joyciemo
