Ciao from Rome

Post  pazzaglia on 16.05.12 19:31

Oops, I'm not a good reader. This is my second post.

I'm a pressure cooker expert, and soon to be author (have a book coming out this fall, and another in 2014), living in Italy.

I was attracted to the Haolgen oven because, like pressure cooking they save energy, cook faster (not as fast as a pressure cooker of course) and generally seem to make your life easier. I'd just about had it with cleaning the nooks and crannies of my convection toaster oven!

What has surprised me so far (only done two recipes) is how much food I can fit in my HO is than my much larger toaster oven.

My HO is 12L and 1,300 watts with a generic name-brand (KEIROS HOME) from Eurospin.

I'm hoping to learn more tips about crisping pizza's and what not (yes, even Italians keep a stash of frozen pizza's for emergencies).

My HO did not come with an extender ring, but I seem to have the most important accessories: two racks and special tongs for lifting them.

Thanks for this great resource and I'm looking forward to adding getting fantastic things out of my HO, with your help and advice.

Ciao,

L

Hi pazzaglia

(tips about crisping pizza) apart from the tips, tricks and advice already posted, I don't think there is anything new to add.

After a lot of experimenting, I have managed to obtain an ok pizza in my halogen oven (with the extender ring) but not the same as in the "big oven".

We are happy to see you on board.
