PRE-HEATING

Post  bridgette_1956 on 28.03.12 0:23

Just bought my HO so havent tried it out yet, but on reading the instruction booklet mine says to preheat to 250c always before putting food in then turn down to desired temp for cooking the food. This allows for loss of heat when you remove the lid to put the food in, AGAIN WILL TRY IT OUT AND LET U KNOW THE OUTCOME.

Hi Brenda Smile
I've read your other post about your new Sunbeam oven. I do believe that Sunbeam is not a halogen oven.

It's a convection oven that is designed to look like a halogen oven.(convection cooking works by fan driven hot air)

Is there a bright halogen light that turns on when you are cooking food?

pre heating

Post  bridgette_1956 on 30.03.12 7:23

hi reeta
yes i think your right there reeta no, no theres not OH WELL i needed something to cook my baked veges etc in as my wall oven is broken and my micro/conv just doesnt have enough room to cook roast and veges at the same time.
BUT I STILL ENJOY READING ALL THE RECIPES ON THIS SITE.
halogen ovens dont seem to be that big in australia as in UK and are hard to find in the shops unless you want to pay a few hundred dollars.
HOPE YOU DONT MIND THAT I STAY IN TOUCH ON THIS SIGHT as i enjoy it very much.
from reading a lot of the blobs people dont seem to use micros very much A GOOD MICROWAVE SIGHT would be good as i use mine daily and have done for over 25yrs.
regards brenda

Hi Brenda
Hate to have to correct you, but nearly all the ovens I have looked at are Halogen, the one I bought from Sams Warehouse is and the one I got from Homeart was. Cannot let the Poms think we are behind the times (I have pommie parents so I can take the mickey out of them)
Hope you get a laugh out that Reeta.
Happy Cooking Ozziejude

of course we don't mind Brenda. We are happy when members contribute , otherwise it will just be June and myself doing all the chats Laughing

Apart from the heat source, your oven can do everything just like the halogen oven. So please stay with us.
