Well we've been using a halogen oven for about 6 months after our oven decided to play dead ,as money was tight at the time, we got a halogen oven to tide us over until we could replace our main oven .
Well we've never bothered, the halogen ovens great , there are 6 adults and a baby in the house and with a combination of the halogen oven with back up from either the c***man grill, slow cooker or microwave we can cook everything we need to feed six adults at the same time .
1)cut a non stick oven liner in a circle to fit in the bottom of the halogen oven with a large enough to go up the side by about 1cm. This makes cleaning a lot easier .
2)an oven liners can also be cut to cover the bottom of dishes to prevent food sticking .
3)plan ahead and rotate food from bottom to top of oven to ensure even cooking.
4) use foil to help stop burning to the top of food that need a long time cooking.
I'm looking forward to browsing this site of other idea's.
