Steaming vegetables

Post  rfk68 on 15.03.12 8:55

Hi all,

I generally get the gist about steaming veggies in a halogen oven (wrapped in foil with a few drops of water) but can this 'pouch' be placed on the bottom of the oven dish (i.e. - not on the bottom rack)??

Also, would it be OK to place a bit of water in the bottom of the oven and just add the veg into that or would that steam everything in the oven?

Finally, is there a special kind of pouch you can buy or will a small foil container or does bog standard foil just suffice?

Thanks for any help/advice.

Cheers cheers

Hi rfk68

Anything placed on the bottom of the oven stops the heat from circulating.
If you put water in the bottom it will steam everything in the oven and any foil will do.
