Using my HO for the First time - eek! Please Help

I have never used a HO before but want to make a chicken cassarole with dumplings, do I put all ingrediants with the cassarole mix straight in to the oven or do I need to add the dumplings a little after the rest? Do I need to use more stock than usual to stop it drying out or will it be ok?
