Soooooooooooooo dissapointed

Post  barb53 on 04.03.12 12:02

Ihave used my oven all week to cook various things i.e burgers chips roast potaotes chicken thighs
and quiche ( quiche was amazing by the way ) but every time i used both trays as with the burgers and chips i placed the burgers on the top tray on a roasting dish and the chips underneath the chips would not brown even though i gave them 10 minutes more cooking time before a put the burgers in i think you only get results when you use one tray or is it my oven visicook cr3 ? any advive would be much appreicated thank you

Hi barb53

The heat isn't good at getting to the bottom when you use both racks. If I have to do this, I half cook, what is to end up in the bottom, on the top rack, then lower it to put my top items in (if that makes sense). This does the trick for me.

Have you tried cooking the burger underneath and the chips on top? Maybe the chips being on top closer to the bulb will help them crisp up/ brown off?
Im a complete newbie to HO cooking but thought it might work Smile

The heat doesn't circulate that well on a double stack, esp if you have a lot of meat on top. I've more or less given up on the stack idea. I just put the potatoes on the same high rack as the meat and things work out well enough.
