Newbie!! third try at posting

Post  jooly on 23.02.12 20:24

Hi, hope I am doing this right, dont normally post on forums.

Just bought a halogen oven and have cooked a gammon joint on it. Not sure it was much shorter, but maybe cheaper!! going to make some chips to go with it.

Very Happy

Should I cover my meat in foil, as I do in an ordinary oven

Welcome jooly

Here's what I did with gammon

I don't use foil on my other roasts - recipes are in the A-Z. The use of foil certainly slows down the cooking. Have a good read of recipes and posts when you have time. You will find that cooking times are not as short as the manufacturers claim - longer and slower produces better results and those results make it worth using a HO.
