Cazza wrote:Hi guys! Here's another halogen virgin to join your gang! I tried my oven last night for the 1st time and it was a disaster!! Was heating a shop bought steak pie and was mesmerised watching the top browning away and when I took it out the inside was still cold! I had it on at 220 degrees for 15 mins. Was this wrong settings and/ or timings?? Help!!!!!

Welcome Shocking and Cazza

Cazza, you need to use a lower temperature and cook for longer. Try looking up previous posts on pies using the search box. Here is a shortcut to one of the replies =

It does help to preheat the oven and to have either tin foil lining the bottom of the oven or a metal baking tray on the base - it seems to reflect the heat back up to the bottom of the pies.

Hi

I have tried this several times. Pre heat oven at 180, place egg on top rack for 6-7 mins for soft and 10 for hard boiled. No need to use ER.
