Sorry Michelle I have a rice cooker for that, but I am hoping someone will tell us because I would like to know as well.

The ratio for fluffy rice in the rice cooker is a about 1:2
In other words, if you are cooking 1 cup of rice, use 2 cups of water. No temperature setting you just switch on

If you want to try this in the HO it would be 1 cup of rice, 2 cups of water and set the temperature to 250 c or the highest on your HO and cook for 10 minutes ( you need to experiment with the cooking time, if rice is still hard then cook it for another 5 minutes)

Cooking rice

Post  wimplebum on 30.01.10 16:06

Hi Michelle,

I am not sure if you mean just cooking rice as in for a curry or a pudding. Marion cooked a rice pudding - the link to her post is http://halogenovenrecipes.forumotion.com/here-you-can-chat-about-things-in-general-f13/rice-pudding-t168.htm?highlight=rice which might help. I should think it would be similar when cooking savoury rice.

If this helps thats great, if not, let us know and I'll try myself and let you know the results

Rice how to cook

Post  michelle on 03.02.10 17:59

Hi finally got round to trying rice(for curry) in my HO. I used 1 part rice to 2 parts water, placed in a glass bowl and put on full heat for 20 mins. Keep stirring every 5 mins or it will bake the rice in places.Turned out just right. Hope this helps people.
