Like a child with a new toy

Post  Cookiecate on 16.02.12 18:45

The day arrived and my Halogen Oven arrived I wanted sooooo much to cook with it but we have plenty of food in the fridge which needs using up so, I guess I must wait until the weekend to Roast some chicken portions, Roast a leg of lamb. We are both on the Atkins diet hubs has been on it a little longer than me and has lost 25lbs since 1st January 2012 I have lost about 12lbs since the end of January.

We eat a lot of roast chicken, chops and ribs.
I am so delighted to have found this forum where I can ask advise or get ideas.

I am a fairly good cook with years of experience but never used a Halogen Oven before and I am so looking forward to it.

I like the idea of cooking sausages, bacon and eggs for breakfast but on Atkins that is an all day meal.

Now can I roast vegetables along with the chicken, underneath so that the chicken juices falls on the vegetables?

Trial and error will be my middle names.. However, not too much error I hope.
I read about one woman who said she cleaned her main oven and said that she would never use it again. I can't imagine me ever doing that but I can see a lot of possibilities.

I like your cooking term 'to shove' sounds like something I could understand.

Well I felt like I would never use my main oven again at times, but my peanut cookie disaster today i ended up not with four big cookies just one giant one that had not cooked on the base :-(I felt only being able to cook 4 at a time would take ages to bake 30 so stuffed the rest in main oven.
On the posative roast pork is a meat that I must say I really hate and wont eat, but we have had roast pork for the last three sunday dinners as I love it cooked in my HO its so yummy! :-)
