Cover or not

Post  costco on 16.02.12 17:07

When roastong potatoes in a oven dish, in the HO, is it better with a lid or not.

I was thinking the lid may stop any fat/oil making the bowl a mess.

Newbie to HO cooking so I don't want to be making a mess all the time.

Hi costco

No lid or else your potatoes won't brown and crisp. No You don't need to use much oil, see recipe below -

http://halogenovenrecipes.forumotion.com/t916-potatoes-top-class-roasties

You can line your HO bowl with tin foil to cut down on the clean up too.

Thanks for that tip will be using it for the first time tomorrow.
Must admit since posting my question I was thinking all the tips say air need to flow around the food so a lid would be pointless!!
