newbie - help

Post  nicole200385 on 10.02.12 16:50

Hi all,

ive just moved into my own place and a very kind friend has given me a halogen oven to use. ( we're all electric so hoping it will keep the costs down!) however i have never used one before and would love to make a chicken stew.

would i brown the chicken as i would if i was to use normal fan oven and would i need to boil the veg before I put it in -also can I cook straight into the glass bowl?

how long would i need to cook it for - not a very confident cook at the best of times! lol charcoal is my new best friend! lol

Thanks for your help

Welcome Nicole

Cooking times will depend on quantities. Members have had better results par boing hard veg and it's always better to use a casserole dish inside your HO to allow the air to circulate underneath. Try typing 'casserole' or 'stew' into the search box and you'll find the previous posts. Good Luck
