Help! My HO keeps tripping the fuse...any ideas?

Post  whitewestie on 06.02.12 17:25

Hi every one I am new to this site. I bought a HO from Aldi's three weeks ago and I have never looked back up until yesterday.
I roasted a guinea fowl ( which was by the way delicious as we have never tasted one ever!) and low and behold the oven just tripped and fused.
Again we tried everything switching off, resetting and off we go again only to trip again.
We tried again this morning and worked beautifully , and again it tripped...PLEASE can anyone help!!!

welcome whitewestie

I'm no expert but my other half says that this shouldn't happen on a modern 13amp kitchen ring - not unless too many things are operating on the same circuit at the same time. (I am presuming you mean it's a circuit breaker that's tripping and not just the light going on and off which is normal???)
Some old properties may operate on a 5amp circuit which is unsuitable for todays appliances.
It is, of course, possible that your appliance is faulty so it may help to try using a different socket on a different ring outside the kitchen. If it still trips the socket then your appliance is most likely faulty.

Hi June , Thank you for your advise I will try that tomorrow and hope for the best. I did not want to take any chances tonight so I used our conventional oven.
Thank you also for the warm welcome I will post as soon as I can with any news of how I am getting on. Smile

agree about not taking a risk - the circuit breaker is telling you something is wrong Good Luck
