I almost never have a full freezer and that can mean that a lot of energy and money is wasted by the freezer as it freezes a small amount of food. A good tip is to fill empty plastic pop bottles most of the way with water and load them into unused drawers or the empty space of the chest freezer. They help to keep the cold in and stop the freezer working too hard.
