Cooking Chart

Post  wimplebum on 31.12.09 6:27

Many thanks Jan S for the cooking chart. That is most useful and exactly what I have been looking for.

For anyone who needs conversion charts for weights/quantities and temperatures, we now have a link in the Questions and Answers section that I think you will find useful - thanks to our Eric Very Happy

halogen cooking Roast Pork Loin

Post  brookiesbabe on 25.01.10 16:56

As a newby to halogen it was trial and error, I had a piece of lean pork loin about 1 1/2 lb and put it on the lowest trivet at 220 for 45 mins, and just left it to do its stuff. WOW it was beautiful and tender. no mess, next week im trying roasties and veg as well, i will keep you informed

Re: Recipe books

Post  jean49 on 20.03.10 14:36

Thanks for all the info re books and charts. I copied a lot of them and made up my own book. I find lots of things need longer than the recipe states but depends so much on the size of meal, size of veg casserole dish etc so it is all experimentation. I bought my oven in March and have been using it every day since and love it. I bought a book called Halogen cooking made Simple by Paul Brodel and Dee Hunwicks which is great, lovely recipes, good pictures and clear instructions. I am going to try roast beef with porcini mushrooms and red wine gravy this weekend.I make a note next to each recipe I try telling me the time it took and anything I would do different. Definitely worth buying - got it from Amazon along with a couple of other ones.

recipe books

Post  mvousden on 04.06.10 23:40

Thanks for the links. I bought my oven today and was at a loss how to use it. The instruction booklet is not very helpful. So I hope this will help me cook a delicious meal this weekend.
